MASTER EXHAUST FAN SERVICE TRAINING
Stop Referring Fan Repairs. Start Profiting From Them.
You already service commercial kitchen exhaust systems. Now learn how to diagnose the problem, fix it right, and sell the solution.
This intensive two-day course takes you through the complete commercial exhaust fan service process — hands-on, using real equipment and real-world service scenarios.
No previous fan-service experience necessary.
Whether you're adding fan service to your company for the first time or building the skills of your existing team, you'll leave with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to put what you've learned to work.
Fall 2026 — October 24–25, 2026
Fort Collins, Colorado
2-Day Hands-On Training
BUILD THE SKILLS TO OFFER FAN SERVICE WITH CONFIDENCE
DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM
Learn how to evaluate an exhaust fan system, identify deficiencies, troubleshoot performance problems, test electrical components, check amp draw, and trace problems to their root cause.
The goal isn't just finding what's broken — it's understanding why it failed and what needs to happen next.
REPAIR IT RIGHT
Get hands-on experience working with the components you'll encounter in the field, including:
- Motors and motor replacement
- Bearings, pulleys and belts
- Pulley alignment and belt tension
- Fan blades and motor mounts
- Electrical switches and connections
- Single- and three-phase wiring
- VFDs and motor controls
You'll tear equipment down, replace components, reassemble it, and learn the practical techniques that make the difference between knowing about fan repair and actually being able to perform it.
REPLACE & INSTALL
Sometimes the right repair is replacement.
Learn the complete fan-replacement process, including removing existing equipment, evaluating curbs and adapters, matching the replacement fan to the system, setting and installing equipment, and working with lift equipment.
You'll also cover the considerations that go into planning a professional replacement before arriving on the job.
SELL THE SOLUTION
Technical ability is only part of building a profitable fan-service division.
Learn how to identify and document deficiencies, develop a repair Plan of Action, quote repairs correctly, explain recommendations to customers, and recognize opportunities for preventive maintenance and recurring service.
The objective is simple:
Stop sending the work somewhere else and start building another revenue stream for your company.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL
The course also covers additional components and service opportunities you'll encounter in the field, including:
Access Ports • Hinge Kits • Grease Containment • Curbs & Adapters • Specialty Tools • Equipment • Deficiency Upgrades
These topics are layered into the core curriculum so you understand not only how to repair the fan, but how to evaluate the complete installation.
THIS ISN'T A TWO-DAY POWERPOINT CLASS.
This course is built around doing the work.
You'll diagnose real equipment, tear down commercial exhaust fans, replace components, work with motors and wiring, troubleshoot problems, and work through actual service scenarios alongside other contractors and technicians.
Class sizes are kept small enough for hands-on instruction, questions, and one-on-one coaching.
You'll leave with:
Hands-On Experience
Work on real commercial exhaust equipment in a fully equipped training facility.
Complete Training Materials
Take home manuals and step-by-step reference information you can use after class.
Tools, Parts & Reference Information
Learn what equipment, tools, parts, and resources you'll need when you begin performing the work yourself.
Certificate of Completion
Document your training and bring that added capability back to your company (mailed out after completion).
Industry Experience
Learn from professionals actively working with commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
Most importantly, you'll leave with the confidence to put what you've learned to work.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is designed for:
Business Owners
who want to add exhaust fan service as a new revenue stream.
Service Managers & Supervisors
who will oversee fan diagnostics, repairs, quoting, and service operations.
Lead Technicians
who need the practical skills to diagnose and complete fan repairs in the field.
Companies Expanding Into Fan Service
that currently refer fan repairs and replacements to other contractors.
Bringing Your Team?
We strongly recommend that company owners attend alongside their service manager or lead technician whenever possible.
That way, the person building the service offering and the person performing the work leave with the same understanding of the process.
INVEST IN A NEW CAPABILITY FOR YOUR COMPANY
The value of this course isn't simply what happens during two days in Fort Collins.
It's what you're able to do after you leave.
One previous attendee put it this way:
“In 2 months, I have made my money back 15 times over.”
— Karl Riekstins, Prior Attendee
Individual results will depend on your market, pricing, sales, and how you put the training to use. The opportunity is learning how to perform work your company may currently be referring elsewhere.
