The float valve assembly is designed so the action of the float riding on the top of the rising water level in the float tank will physically shut off a valve and cut the water supply to the tank. When the water level falls, the valve reopens and water is again allowed to flow into the tank. The float valve assembly is generally made up of a male inlet fitting, an outlet which may or may not be threaded, and a short controlling arm on a pivot which creates the motion of the arm.
